If so, join the FindLaw technology group as a Lead Data Modeler, where you will contribute to the design and delivery of critical public-facing and internal applications.

About the Role

In this opportunity as Lead Data Modeler, you will:

  • Work with our business partners, data architects, application and ETL developers, and other members of the FindLaw Team to develop, maintain and enhance data models and objects associated with transactional, data warehouse, and reporting databases.
  • Provide guidance related to security, governance, and best practices as it relates to databases and data modeling.
  • Design dimensional and relational physical data models.
  • Work independently with minimal direction to meet commitments.
  • Follow enterprise data architecture principles.

About You

You're a fit for the role of Lead Data Modeler if your background includes:

  • Minimum 7 years of prior data modeling experience
  • A bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, computer science, or a related field. 
  • In depth knowledge of PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MySQL databases
  • Experience with AWS cloud services
  • Experience with Snowflake for database, Python, ETL, MySQL, Cloud Services, and/or tuning is preferred
  • Experience designing dimensional and relational physical data models
  • Experience implementing database objects, deployment activities
  • Experience with PowerDesigner modeling tool or other data modeling tools
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling principles and best practices
  • Strong communication skills; experience communicating with data engineers, data analysts, business users, and management to explain technical and functional concepts
  • Understanding of enterprise data architecture principles
  • Strong data analysis and SQL writing skills; including query performance tuning
  • Experience writing and executing complex SQL
  • Demonstrated success working in a team-based, agile environment
  • Strong facilitation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of Fivetran’s HVR replication tool
  • Knowledge of Snowflake database
