The Team:

Data Intelligence aims to provide a set of common technology services within Market Intelligence with a focus on actionable insight, automation, reuse and consultancy, working with operations, business and other technology groups to Employ Site (or Service) Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to design and implement low-maintenance cloud-native products (SRE Enablement). Define and measure availability, risk (operational and technical) and other key performance & risk indicators to provide transparency and actionable insight into our external services (Data Intelligence). Operate and optimize database solutions (Database Support Engineering)

The Impact:

Data Intelligence is a service to process, analyze and provide insight into data relevant to our client-facing and internal services. Articulate risks and identify opportunities for improvements to productivity and service stability. It’s service which aggregates data from multiple Market Intelligence (MI) applications into a centralized platform and enables stakeholders to visualize technical and risk performance.

S&P Global is seeking a highly motivated engineer (highly skilled data intelligence engineer to bring experience and a critical eye) to join our Data Intelligence team in India. Employee will be expected to be part of cross financial services data intelligence team with a focus on data analysis for the streams : Service Management (ServiceNow, JIRA, Salesforce cases), Availability (DotCom, Batch delivery), Operational & Technical Risk (InfoSec Risks, Data Breaches, BCP & ITDR Compliance, Remote Working, GDPR Compliance, Vulnerabilities), Client Usage (Data Challenges, Data Access), Cloud Health (Hygiene, security), Technical Debt and Cloud Cost Champion (Potential areas of cost benefits)

Responsibilities:

Design, build and maintain Data Pipelines and embed efficient Engineering ensuring its loosely coupled and focused on data integrity and lineage.

  • Design and build Data Visualizations – focus on data security, self-service and intelligible temporal metrics to highlight risks and opportunities.
  • Data Science and Analysis – creative analysis to provide actionable insights to improve productivity and reduce risk
  • The wider work includes to consolidate and normalize data from all possible data sources, correlate to find trends and top occurring patterns and tie back to system behaviors to determine fixes and enhancement required to reduce manual efforts
  • Business Development – work with business partners to identify how value can be extracted from the data with a focus on self-service and automation
  • Own the reporting output process, includes review and analysis of data output to ensure the data reflects the intended purpose 
  • Strong Experience in Python or scripting languages. Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases such MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, DB/2, MongoDB, DynamoDB. Should be aware of Power BI and how the pbix files are deployed/published on different workspaces. Should be knowing creation of Power BI Apps from the reports and how the dataset refreshes are automatically set using gateways.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s Engineering degree required
  • Overall Experience:2-5 years, Data Intelligence: 1-2 Years, Development & Support: 2-3 years
  • Strong Python (or other scripting languages) skills, Strong Power BI experience, Strong in Database development (Oracle, mySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Thorough understanding of the software development life cycle and agile techniques
  • AWS Experience is a must
