What does our Alternatives business do?

Franklin Templeton’s Alternatives capabilities are spread across c. $260bn in AUM and include private credit, private equity, hedge fund solutions, real estate, infrastructure and venture capital strategies. We are seeking a Senior Alternative Sales Specialist to join our fast-growing Alternatives Wealth Solutions Team, based in London to be a private markets category expert, in particular in the Private Equity space. The role works regionally and internationally with global private banks and regional wealth managers to enable sales, enhance client experience, education and relationship management to the client alongside the regional sales teams. Language skills and some EMEA local market experience, as well as sales background are desirable skills. Private Markets knowledge and background, client focus and teamwork will be essential skills.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Senior Alternative Sales Specialist?

You will work with the Head of Alternatives, EMEA Wealth Management to support a strategic plan for sales in partnership with Franklin Templeton regional distribution teams.

  • Leverage your extensive background in private markets to assist developing and generating assets

  • Play a senior role in collaborating with distribution and specialist managers within geographic region to act as a category expert on our Private Equity range of strategies

  • Be involved in client facing meetings and actively engage in research and portfolio discussions and marketing content development

  • Oversee the Due Diligence requirements in line with the Firm and client requirements

  • Review and respond appropriately to internal and external client inquiries

What qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA and/or CFA/CAIA preferred

  • Extensive experience and technical knowledge of private markets strategies required

  • A high energy level and drive to succeed coupled with ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Self-driven with ability to build manage key internal and external relationships

  • Experience developing and implementing sales and marketing business plans

  • Understanding of key alternative asset classes

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Comfortable with extensive travel

  • Language skills are a plus
