Job Summary

The Service Technology team, within Technical Information Solutions (Global Service), is responsible for developing and deploying digital products that will take equipment service to a whole new level. As product complexity increases, the importance of having the latest onboard software is critical to ensure operators have access to the latest features and bug fixes.

As the Flash Product Owner, you will have a unique opportunity to drive rapid change in how users find and deploy onboard software. You will be integral to defining and executing the roadmaps to simplify how software is administered and presented to users, enabling Remote Flash across the extended enterprise. Your work will result in a greater percentage of products being on the latest software and a more robust, predictable update experience. You will work across the Caterpillar matrix to gain alignment to the roadmaps you define.

  • This is a hybrid position located in Peoria, IL.

  • Our team embraces flexibility through a hybrid work model.  In addition to working onsite at our facility in Peoria, IL, our hybrid work model allows employees the flexibility to work from home based on business need.

  • Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.

  • This position requires up to 25% of working time travel, both domestic and international.

What You Will Do:

  • Defining and executing a roadmap for administering software for dealers

  • Defining and executing a roadmap for Remote Flash software delivery

  • Reducing the number of “sources of truth” for service software

  • Define and execute integration with other platforms and technologies, such as SIS 2.0 and SIS2GO

  • Engage product groups, as well as dealer and customer users to ensure their needs are met

  • Provide stakeholders monthly updates on progress, program risks & mitigation, and demos

  • Proactively identify and resolve resource, quality & capacity gaps as they arise

  • Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time

What You Have (Required Skills):

  • 7+ years of experience, preferably with an onboard software background and/or product owner experience

  • Bachelor’s degree


What Will Set You Apart (Preferred Skills):

  • At least 5 years of experience in a machine or engine system team, or onboard electronics development

  • Prior experience as a system coordinator

  • SIS, Cat ET, and Remote Flash experience

  • Strong skills in organization, collaboration, attention to detail, influencing, communication, change management, and gaining commitment

  • High technical focus and broad dealer business understanding

  • Proven ability to lead complex projects and drive results with high autonomy

  • Demonstrated involvement in innovation and use of technology to solve problems

  • Demonstrated excellence in a team environment
