We are seeking an experienced Global Lead Buyer for micro-ingredients category to coordinate purchasing activities for Nutreco worldwide. The ideal candidate will acquire raw materials in a cost-effective and timely manner while maintaining alignment with divisional guidelines and global sourcing policies.  

Job Description:
As the Global Lead Buyer, your responsibilities will include:

1. Developing and Implementing Procurement Strategies: 

  • Support the creation and execution of procurement strategies and sourcing plans for assigned sub-categories, ensuring alignment with corporate policies and sustainable sourcing practices.

2. Supplier and Contract Management: 

  • Develop and manage key supplier relationships, oversee supplier selection, negotiation, and contracting processes, and ensure all contracts are adequately managed, accessible, and traceable.

3. Performance Management: 

  • Monitor and optimize purchasing performance to meet annual goals and KPIs, initiate improvement projects, and coordinate actions during major sourcing issues to ensure business continuity.

4. Data Analysis and Purchasing Processes: 

  • Collect and analyze spend, supply market, and supplier data to optimize sourcing plans, manage procurement data in ERP systems, and ensure accurate and consistent reporting of supply market developments.

5. Market Monitoring: 

  • Actively monitor supply market trends and anticipate supplier developments to enhance competitive sourcing positions in the medium and long term.

6. Compliance and Ethical Standards: 

  • Ensure all purchasing processes comply with legal requirements, corporate policies, ethical codes of conduct, and sustainability standards, maintaining high levels of integrity and accountability.

7. Maximizing Business Profitability: 

  • Support the development and execution of sourcing plans to secure supplies, enable regional competitiveness, and maximize profitability through effective supplier management and strategic procurement initiatives.

Job Requirements:

  • A master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience, or an experienced Bachelor's degree holder.
  • At least regional experience in procurement and supply chain management.
  • Demonstrated experience in sourcing, supplier management and resource management for a global organization is desirable.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills.
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation abilities with a demonstrated capacity to engage suppliers for complex problem-solving.
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships across various functions.
  • Proficient in conducting cost price analyses and make-versus-buy evaluations.
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically with attention to detail.
