Responsibilities
Hands-on development of next-generation features, tooling and infrastructure for Yahoo! News.
Help to scope, plan, and implement best-in-class software practices, procedures, and delivery.
Contribute to implementation guidelines and execution strategy for your team’s goals.
Collaborate with your peers, product managers, and engineering leaders on new features and enhancements.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
Solid industry experience as a front-end engineer developing customer-facing products.
Expert in software development domain and principles, including design patterns, data structures, algorithms, performance optimisation, and software design
Deep functional knowledge and hands-on experience in frontend programming languages and frameworks such as Javascript, React, CSS, Tailwind
Deep technical knowledge of web application development with a strong command of browser-side client technologies, including AJAX, HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript and object-oriented Javascript
Good understanding and experience with web performance and optimisation
Knowledge of modern CI/CD systems and methodologies
Predisposition towards testing, instrumentation, and documentation.
Ability to work well with diverse groups of people geographically dispersed across the world
Knowledge of cloud-based platforms such as AWS or GCP is an advantage.
