Client Executive

Manages highly complex, large accounts with long-term strategic engagement, serving as the primary influencer in purchasing decisions. Builds and sustains strong, long-term customer relationships. Collaborates with customers to understand business goals, identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities, and create demand aligned with customer roadmaps. Acts as the Account Orchestrator, aligning and integrating solutions to drive sustainable cross-portfolio growth through coordination and competitive deal packaging.

Typically manages 1-2 strategic, transformational accounts across multiple domains or product areas, maintaining comprehensive knowledge of Cisco’s full product portfolio. Engages specialist teams to enhance sales, especially where deep technical expertise is needed. Builds and manages the sales funnel through effective prospecting and drives opportunities to closure to meet revenue goals. Analyzes data and creates forecasts for weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales commitments. Keeps informed on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscapes.

Specialization and Focus: Generalist with deep vertical and client knowledge; relationship specialist able to deploy the right specialists from an extended account team.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive strategic, multi-year architectural deals with top-tier accounts, influencing overall sales strategy.
  • Manage global relationships at C-suite and board levels, leveraging deep understanding of customer organizations to anticipate and meet needs.
  • Network with key decision makers to expand relationships and ensure adaptive go-to-market strategies.
  • Cultivate trusted C-suite partnerships to deliver transformative business outcomes and long-term alignment.
  • Position Cisco as a strategic partner for digital transformation with visionary insights and tailored solutions.
  • Lead C-suite negotiations to secure long-term partnerships and sustained business value.
  • Develop and deliver quarterly business outlooks and portfolio-wide proposals, including new consumption models and product customizations.
  • Integrate account strategy with business strategy to build growth roadmaps and optimize solution bundling.
  • Lead high-impact initiatives and influence company-wide investments in tools, technologies, and process innovations.
  • Coordinate resources from extended account teams to implement architectural solutions addressing business needs.
  • Participate in hiring processes for account executive roles.
     

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 12 years of related experience, or Master’s degree plus 8 years, or PhD plus 5 years of related experience.
  • Proven ability to manage highly complex, large accounts with long-term strategic engagement.
  • Strong relationship-building skills to sustain long-term customer partnerships.
  • Experience collaborating with customers to understand business goals and identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Cisco’s full product portfolio.
  • Skilled in engaging specialist teams to enhance the sales process, especially where deep technical expertise is required.
  • Proficiency in building and managing the sales funnel through effective prospecting and driving opportunities to closure.
  • Analytical skills to create forecasts for weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales commitments.
  • Awareness of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscapes.
