SCUK Senior Financial Reporting Manager

Santander Consumer Finance UK (SCUK) is based in Redhill, Surrey and provides motor finance to a network of car dealerships throughout the United Kingdom.
We are now looking for a Senior Financial Reporting Manager to manage the 3 Year planning, budget and reporting function of the Financial Control Team ensuring key stakeholder requirements are met.
Please note this role is a hybrid role with at least 3 days a week in the Redhill office. Remote workers will not be considered.
Responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for production of the monthly management accounts ensuring that all information provided is accurate and reconciled to SCUK’s financial results
- Reviewing the P&L split by brand, products and manufacturer KPIs and preparing commentary on the main aspects of the company performance
- Lead a team of Finance Professionals within the Finance Control Team
- Identify and implement process improvements for yearly and monthly forecasting
- Set the longer-term direction of their team and have a sound understanding how their goals and plans fit into the overall company strategy
- Acts as a senior source of professional expertise within Finance and input into the development of Finance policies, making recommendations and advising on issues where appropriate
- Provide expert advice & MI for decision making purposes and to be able to provide views/recommendation with clear rationale that is confidently delivered
- Act as the key contact to provide essential ad-hoc financial analysis to Board, Exco and Group and to improve the control framework and general oversight within Finance
- Adhering to our commitment to Consumer Duty ensuring we put our Customers’ needs first and set higher and clearer standards of consumer protection
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience in a financial reporting role and a recognised expert
- A solid leader to drive the strategy of the team moving forward
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the financial services industry and relevant commercial sectors, the organisation, business and regulatory environment
- Strong analytical and spreadsheet modelling skills
- Displays business expertise and acumen and applies this knowledge to achieve objectives and contribute to business success
- Ability to work under pressure often dealing with several issues simultaneously
- Someone who is well organised, goal orientated, able to meet deadlines and able to prioritise and delegate work
- Good commercial awareness and experience of the Motor Finance market
- Demonstrates creativity, responds positively to changing circumstances, seeks and implements changes to drive business improvement
- Generates and puts in place smarter ways of working to improve what we do and how we do it on a day-to-day basis
- Understands how performance affects profit and how it will be measured
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) is preferred
- Experience of using Cognos Planning or TM1 is desirable
