Job Title: Veterinary Surgeon
Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum FTE (dependent on experience)
Location: Calder Vets (Sandal)
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time (Part-Time applications welcome)
Hours: 40hrs FTE (No out of hours)
Your role and responsibilities
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our Sandal branch.
Sandal is growing and expanding following its recent renovations. We have brand new, high-end facilities including kennels/cattery, sterile ops theatre, radiography, ultrasound, dental machine and dental radiography, in-house laboratory, consultation rooms, reception, office, and kitchen.
We are looking for a capable surgeon to operate roughly 4 hours a day, followed by 2-4 hours of consulting. We can build a rota to suit you, a 40-hour week usually fits into 3.5 days at Calder, but there is a lot of flex here and we can accommodate you.
Whilst this is a new role and therefore initially may find there to be a lot of routine procedures there is scope to grow the surgical service into making it your own taking more exciting casework as you develop.
With recent additions to our team, a new lead nurse, and a senior client care administrator we have a keen and well-motivated team raring to make this clinic one of the best with everything it has to offer!
You will have the support of the larger Calder team and our wealth of clinical knowledge. Engagement is a priority at Calder, with monthly site meetings, check-in meetings with your lead vet every 2 weeks, and monthly invites to meetings for all our vets therefore you will always have your say in what matters to you.
Sandal is a small, tight-knit dedicated team keen to support and welcome anyone new joining our team.
Benefits
Associates. We have an amazing team of Mental Health First Aiders (MHFA) across our practices and central support office in addition to a confidential Employee Assistance Programme which is available for everyone.
About us

Sandal is a lovely area- nice pubs, nice walks, nice golf courses, nice people.
Calder has a long-established reputation for clinical excellence and are looking for a colleague who would share in our core values. We are also a friendly, welcoming, supportive team who enjoy bringing fun into the workplace; we have a dedicated Champions Team who organise regular events.
