37 hours per week – Monday to Friday Mon- Thurs 8am - 16:00, Friday 8am - 15:30

About the Role:

As a Bricklayer Operative you will be working with Rotherham council providing a stable and profitable contract, delivering excellent service and support through our local teams, who understand the importance of working together for the local community.

In this role, you will leverage your extensive experience in brick laying and various building works, including plastering, tiling, and carpentry, to support social housing projects. You will be responsible for small rebuilds, such as constructing disabled access ramps and repairing steps, as well as general ground works like paving, concreting, and tarmac repairs. Holding a certified core trade qualification, you will ensure high standards in repair and refurbishment tasks, taking ownership to complete them efficiently and within budget. Your excellent customer service skills will be crucial in maintaining a professional demeanour in all interactions, ensuring a positive customer experience. You will process tasks electronically using a handheld device, manage company assets and stock, and participate in meetings and training sessions. Additionally, you will provide emergency cover as needed to ensure contract compliance and customer satisfaction.

Key Criteria:

Experience in brick laying: Proficient in laying bricks and blocks, ensuring structural integrity and aesthetic quality.

Experience in other building works: Skilled in various construction tasks including plastering, tiling, and carpentry.

Working social housing background: Familiar with the standards and regulations of social housing projects, ensuring compliance and quality.

Good customer service skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to interact professionally with clients and address their needs effectively.

UK Full driving licence: Valid UK driving licence, enabling travel to various job sites as required.
