Overview:

M&T Realty Capital Corporation (MTRCC) is seeking an experienced Commercial Mortgage Loan Originator to drive production across our full suite of products, including Fannie Mae DUS, Freddie Mac, multifamily bridge-to-agency, FHA, and Conduit/Life Company placements. This role is ideal for a proven originator who thrives in a collaborative, relationship‑focused environment and is motivated by delivering structured financing solutions that meet client needs while aligning with the Bank’s risk framework.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Originate and capture new commercial mortgage opportunities across all product offerings, leveraging both existing relationships and new business development.
  • Actively collaborate with M&T Bank relationship managers to generate and facilitate reciprocal referrals, strengthening enterprise‑wide client relationships.
  • Lead client discussions and negotiations to structure optimal financing solutions.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of agency, government‑insured, and capital markets products, staying current on program updates and market trends.
  • Ensure compliance with all risk, regulatory, and control standards, proactively identifying and escalating potential risk issues to management.
  • Support a culture that promotes belonging, integrity, and alignment with the M&T Bank brand values.
  • Maintain strong internal controls, including the timely resolution of items identified through audits or regulatory examinations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities:

This role focuses on individual production and collaboration without direct supervisory or managerial responsibilities.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant commercial mortgage sales experience, or in lieu of a degree, 12 years of combined education and professional experience, including at least 8 years of relevant sales experience.
  • Demonstrated success in commercial real estate finance sales, with strong relationship‑building and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial structures clearly and confidently.
  • Strong business judgment, attention to detail, and a commitment to risk management and regulatory compliance.

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $150,800.00 - $251,300.00 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
