Role Description
We are seeking a People Data Intern to design and build a scalable MyHR Data Agent that enables natural language access to governed workforce analytics. This role will focus on leveraging a mirrored Azure SQL MyHR database and Microsoft Fabric to create reliable data pipelines, curated datasets, and a conversational interface that allows HRBPs and leaders to easily access key people metrics such as headcount, attrition, and hiring trends. The intern will work at the intersection of data engineering, people analytics, and AI-driven reporting, partnering closely with the People Analytics and Data Engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and understand HRIS data structures in a mirrored Azure SQL database, including employee, job, compensation, and organizational hierarchy tables.
- Assist in defining and documenting governed workforce metrics such as headcount, attrition, hiring, and tenure.
- Build and maintain ETL pipelines in Microsoft Fabric to ingest, transform, and curate H data into Lakehouse or Warehouse environments.
- Develop curated, query-ready datasets (e.g., employee snapshots, attrition events) optimized for analytics and performance.
- Implement data quality checks, refresh schedules, and validation processes to ensure reliable and consistent data outputs.
- Contribute to the development of a semantic and metrics layer aligned with existing Power BI and people analytics reporting.
- Support development of a conversational data agent by mapping natural language questions to governed metrics and datasets.
- Test common workforce analytics queries and validate accuracy of results.
- Document data models, metric definitions, agent usage, and handoff materials to support adoption and future expansion.
Qualifications
Required / Preferred Background
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Engineering, HR Analytics, or a related field (rising sophomore through graduate level).
- Interest in people analytics, data engineering, or AI-enabled analytics solutions.
- 4-Days in Office - Jersey City, NJ
Technical Skills (academic or project-based experience acceptable)
- Familiarity with SQL and relational data concepts.
- Exposure to ETL/ELT pipelines, data modeling, or analytics platforms.
- Understanding of workforce or HR data is a plus.
- Experience or interest in Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure SQL, or conversational analytics tools is preferred but notrequired.
