About you and this role

The Operator is responsible for managing assigned equipment and operational areas within the plant. This role involves executing and reporting tasks as outlined in the Operations Dashboard (OPD) and associated task lists. The Operator uses discretionary time to drive sustainable performance outcomes and applies operational expertise to ensure safe, reliable, and optimal plant functioning. In collaboration with the shift team, the Operator proactively addresses unplanned events within team capabilities and escalates unresolved issues to appropriate support roles. Additionally, the Operator supports the development of less experienced team members through training and mentorship. This position requires a broad technical skill set in analytical methods and operational processes and may serve as an informal resource for junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Operating Discipline: Follows established policies and procedures to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations, including during planned and unplanned activities.
• Monitors and Operates Equipment: Conducts field checks, monitors process conditions and performance metrics, and makes decisions to maintain optimal plant performance.
• Executes Operational Tasks: Performs scheduled and reactive tasks, collaborates with shift teams to balance workload and meet deadlines.
• Ensures Effective Shift Handover: Conducts thorough shift relief to ensure clear communication and continuity between teams.
• Develops Skills and Trains Others: Maintains qualifications, completes training goals, and mentors team members on operations and troubleshooting.
• Drives Continuous Improvement: Participates in investigations, tracks performance metrics, identifies improvement opportunities, and performs minor maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field) or equivalent technical qualification.
• Valid certifications in plant operations, safety, or equipment handling
