The Product Development organization within SharkNinja drives our global product roadmap from concept to shelf through the constant lens of the consumer. We are the “product CEOs” and partner cross-functionally with almost every other team within the company to drive high satisfaction for our end user and to drive business results. About the role:
The Product Developer will lead the development of successful and profitable programs for key products to ensure continued growth of the current portfolios as well as the establishment of new launches across SharkNinja Product Categories. This role is expected to be the market expert in their product lines, research and understand the competitive landscape, retailer assortments that will meet the needs of the changing consumer and retailer requests. This role is hybrid based in Battersea London, 3 days a week in the office.
Here are some of the exciting things you’ll get to do:
• Support the Ninja business with the development of successful and profitable programs for new products to ensure continued growth of the product portfolio – you will lead and assist key workstreams in the new product development lifecycle of assigned product(s) from brainstorm phase through mass production
• Bring new products to launch within the UK and mainland Europe.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Partnering with global product development on creating product definitions, consumer-relevant design targets, and performance KPIs, including creation/drive toward critical messaging claims
• Conduct and analyze market research to identify consumer needs and market gaps and analyze the competitive landscape
• Understand regional and local compliance risks/issues, as well as unique regional needs. Be an advocate to articulate these product nuances to the cross functional and global teams.
• Work closely with cross-functional teammates to convey the strategic vision and goals for the product portfolio
• Regularly share product feedback with global teams to ensure real-time inputs are provided at every stage of product development from P-builds to MP
• Lead “Holiday Morning” team reviews at each build, and capture clear notes, photos, and actions of each product issue.
• Partner with PMO, Engineering, and global PD to ensure issue tracker is “burned down” from build to build. Develop and actively participate in JIRA ticket development and closing out issues.
• Develop and execute hands-on and virtual validation plans at each build, within the support markets, using the proven SN methodologies that gain internal confidence, for all touchpoints, collateral, and Out of Box Experience enabling qualitative and quantitative feedback from the Europe to gain internal confidence and support product readiness
• Manage the creation and execution of product support material, such as, in-box collateral, FAQ’s, How-To Videos and Troubleshooting scripts for online resources and the Customer Excellence team
• Manage the product development inputs for PARF, PIS, Salsify and maintain data integrity throughout the product development cycle
• Work cross functionally to help team meet cost targets, and have understanding of levers needed to impact margin
• Provide clear cost direction to Supply Chain and Engineering on potential product trade offs to ensure cost and margin targets are met
• Have an understanding of overall category cost and margin targets to provide support to leadership in executing budget • Efficiently document program details, and keep organized system for smooth transition 90 days post MP to COE team
Here are some of the things you’ll bring:
• 2-4 years of experience in product development, product marketing, marketing, human factors engineering, or a related field, preferably at a consumer goods company
• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Marketing, Management, Engineering or a combination of the above
• Interest and ability to work, learn, and grow in a fast-paced, deadline driven, high impact environment
• A “100% on” consumer-first perspective when it comes to introducing new products/processes or improving current products
• A mindset geared toward building relationships across multi-functional teams, coupled with excellent interpersonal skills
• Highly-effective communication skills – both written (presentation/email) and in-person (ability to host succinct, effective conversations that solve problems and ability to make effective presentations to all levels of management)
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
• A desire to learn and grow in a passionate environment
• The ability to embrace transparency and shifting priorities while learning from each decision and focusing on the path forward
• Willingness to mentor junior and newly onboarded associates
• Ability to see failure as an opportunity to iterate, learn, and willingness to fail fast and often.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Resourceful, well organized, highly dependable, efficient and detail oriented
• Ability to be a team player as well as work independently • Willingness to travel
