Join us as a Depositary Regulatory Risk Manager

What you’ll do

Working in the NatWest Depositary business, you’ll drive forward the evolving face of the Depositary and Funds Industry through digitally-led insights and industry governance standards. You’ll interpret regulations and suggest resolutions to business queries from a rules perspective.

We’ll look to you to proactively address regulatory change and upstream regulatory risk so our business can better serve its customers and make sure our practices are compliant. You’ll manage the regulatory risk agenda within NWTDS to ensure our business complies with developments.

You’ll also be responsible for:

  • Working closely with relevant teams by providing regulatory support, guidance and training on regulatory policy and interpretation
  • Encouraging client engagement and thought leadership initiatives while supporting new product offerings and regulation changes to existing products
  • Addressing regulatory change to gain competitive advantages and to make sure practices remain compliant while providing and presenting board reporting on key regulatory topics
  • Coordinating with other regulatory risk teams
  • Preparing the NWTDS Fiduciary and Discretionary Committee meeting packs while assisting with chairing meetings, drafting meeting minutes and following up on actions

The skills you’ll need

To be successful in this role, it is essential that you understand collective investment schemes, the UK funds industry and have indepth regulatory knowledge. It is also essential that you have knowledge of trustee and depositary oversight responsibilities.

We’re looking for an analytical thinker with good problem-solving skills and understanding of how to find solutions.

You’ll also need:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to develop working partnerships both internally and externally
  • An understanding of how to work under pressure, managing diverse initiatives without compromising quality
  • An interest in sharing your specialist knowledge with others to support their understanding and decision-making
