We are seeking an experienced full-time vet for a fixed-term maternity cover to join our team of 11 veterinary surgeons. You'll have the opportunity to work with a supportive group, including several certificate holders, ensuring there's always someone available for guidance when needed, while maintaining clinical independence. We highly value work-life balance, and our carefully designed rota reflects that commitment. Our team also enjoys regular social activities, from quiz nights to seasonal events like Easter egg hunts, Halloween celebrations, and summer and Christmas parties.

We are a well-established, first-opinion small animal practice located on the Surrey/Middlesex border, within walking distance of the Southwestern train line, providing convenient access to London.

Vet4life is a modern, fully equipped, RCVS-accredited practice dedicated to delivering the highest standards of care. Our team includes 11 veterinary surgeons, working across our Surbiton, Teddington, and Shepperton locations. We continuously evolve to meet our patients' needs and clients' expectations.

Our facilities include endoscope, laparoscopic equipment for spays, an ultrasound scanner, CR radiography, Class 4 laser, two consultation rooms, and an in-house lab. Many of our vets have obtained or are pursuing certificates in emergency and critical care, orthopaedics, small animal medicine, surgical nursing, and consultation. Our team also has special interests in dermatology, cardiology, exotic pets, and wellbeing.

At our practice, we are committed to fostering a supportive and nurturing environment for our team. We actively encourage professional growth and fully support our team members' ambitions, offering regular, well-funded CPD opportunities. Providing exceptional care and service to our clients and their pets is a top priority, and we believe that achieving this starts with ensuring our team has all the tools and resources they need, while working in an optimal environment.

The role offers a 4-day workweek (Monday to Friday), totalling 38.3 hours per week, with weekend shifts included. Example shift times are either 8:00 am – 5:30 pm or 10:00 am – 7:30 pm. Weekends are on a rotational basis, typically requiring 8 half weekends and 4 full weekends over the course of a year. A half weekend involves working Saturday from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, while a full weekend includes Saturday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm and Sunday 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. There are no out-of-hours (OOH) duties.
