Job Description Summary:

Our Information Governance department has an opening for a temporary Specialist (approximately 8 months) who will be responsible for collecting, parsing and transforming data across repositories into structured formats. This role will ensure data accuracy, completeness and integrity. The work schedule for this position will be 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, from 9 am - 6 pm. This position can be based in any of our U.S. offices.

Job Description:

  • Developing and implementing robust strategies and methodologies tailored to solve complex data-related challenges.
  • Utilizing advanced tools, techniques and automation scripts to efficiently retrieve data from diverse repositories.
  • Performing thorough validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency and reliability of extracted data.
  • Applying critical thinking when reviewing data, ensuring relationships between data are discovered and incorporated into results.
  • Collaborating closely with requestors to understand specific data needs and deliver customized extraction solutions.
  • Keeping apprised and utilizing latest developments, trends, and best practices in data and information retrieval technologies.
  • Maintaining open, continuous communication with personnel involved, fostering positive interactions that increase teamwork and cohesiveness towards a best practices culture.
  • Serving as primary point of contact of Risk and Information Governance departments, practice groups, and others needing assistance with electronic data.
  • Effectively coordinating resources and prioritizing projects to meet time deadlines and deliver results.
  • Assisting Information Governance in responding to requests and other internal and external requests for information, such client transfers, litigation holds and protective orders.
  • Providing expert guidance, training and support to junior team members or colleagues involved in data extraction activities.
  • Maintaining strict adherence to data privacy regulations, security protocols, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Working collaboratively and maintaining excellent working rapport with IT personnel to meet project deadlines and deliver results.
  • Assisting with special projects assigned by Senior Information Governance Manager.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in using wide range of data extraction tools, programming languages, scripting languages, and data manipulation frameworks.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to analyze, interpret and transform unstructured data into structured formats.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail, especially in pattern, anomaly and inconsistency detection.
  • Proven track record of successful delivery of highly accurate and timely results.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills that promote high collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with legal terminology, documents, processes, and tools is highly desirable.

Reporting to the Senior Information Governance Manager, the ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in e-discovery, data extraction, mining, and/or retrieval. A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology, data science is preferred.

The anticipated range for this position is:

$66,000 - $87,000

Depending on the role, the actual base salary offered may depend upon a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

A discretionary bonus for eligible employees may also be available based on performance.  Additional information about employee eligibility for benefits and discretionary bonus will be made available upon request.
