About the Role

This role is responsible for supporting Accounts Payable transaction processing, including executing accounting activities in SAP and ensuring timely payments for Harman entities globally. The position involves close collaboration with Finance leaders and business stakeholders to deliver accurate accounting, along with efficient period-end closing activities aligned with Harman’s current and future business needs. Additionally, the role will assist the Finance Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations, including team coordination and process management within the Accounts Payable function.

What You Will Do

  • Process vendor invoices with accurate coding, ensuring proper approvals and compliance with company policies.

  • Perform 2-way and 3-way matching, and proactively resolve discrepancies in coordination with procurement and business teams.

  • Monitor Accounts Payable aging, follow up on outstanding items, and support timely payment processing through ACH, NEFT, RTGS, and wire transfers.

  • Reconcile vendor accounts, manage disputes effectively, and handle credit and debit notes.

  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including accruals and account reconciliations.

  • Ensure accurate tax treatment and compliance with applicable regulations, including GST, TDS, VAT, and WHT.

  • Identify and address non-compliant transactions to maintain process integrity.

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, financial policies, and SOX/ICFR requirements.

  • Drive continuous process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the Accounts Payable function.

What You Need to Be Successful

  • 3-6 years of experience in core accounting within a shared services environment.

  • Strong expertise in Accounts Payable, general accounting, compliance, and financial reporting.

  • Hands-on experience in processing journal entries in SAP.

  • Sound knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and core accounting principles.

  • Excellent communication skills, with strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Bonus Points if You Have  

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting

  • Master’s degree or higher accounting qualification, which would be a distinct advantage

  • Prior experience in a Shared Services or BPO environment.

  • Advanced proficiency in the MS Office suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
