Boeing Poland is currently seeking a Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) Engineering Manager to join our Production & Industrial Engineering (PIE) Systems team in Boeing Engineering Center in Rzeszow, Poland.
As a BDS Engineering Manager you will be leading a team (up to 20 people) of design engineers involved in the design and product definition of airframe components and sub-systems designed, manufactured and supported in service by Boeing. You will be responsible for recruitment, securing and developing competencies in the team, supervising trainings, personal and professional development of employees, and achieving engineering deliverables on time and on budget.
Project planning, monitoring and reporting of work will be supported by the technical leaders. Additional scope of work may include production support engineering and electrical systems. The most desirable skills are related with people leadership and management in a global engineering organization.
Position Responsibilities:
Responsible for developing project plans, directs all project phases, and acting as primary customer contact for project activities (supported by project/technical leads)
Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
Implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
Acquires resources for projects and processes coordinates the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as a liaison between project and team, finance, sourcing, and scheduling
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports
Manages via project deliverables, all technical and functional staff assigned to the project
Uses Boeing Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) to develop a robust operating and reporting rhythm for programs to ensure a successful outcome
Identify and manage actively opportunities, risks, and issues to ensure effective resolution or mitigation, and coordinate required activities to ensure successful delivery
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team
Identify and manage project dependencies and the associated critical path(s)
Plan, schedule and manage project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
Track and report project status relative to the approved business case and scope, with transparency and insight into the overall health of the project
Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results and investigate problem areas
Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project life cycle
Effectively run Project meetings from project kick-off to Post-implementation Review ensuring all stakeholders meet their responsibilities
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes
Manages, develops, and motivates employees
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
Upper Intermediate English
5+ years of experience in aerospace and/or engineering
2+ years of experience leading teams in a formal and /or informal leadership role
Extensive Project Management experience
Highly competent in using MS Office products in general
Preferred Qualification (Desired Skills/Experience):
2+ years of experience with mechanical design engineering and/or structural capability assessment
2+ years of experience with working military projects
2+ years of experience in technical leadership

Additional Requirement:
The individual will be required to obtain clearance for work under military concession (regulated by act of 13 June 2019 on conducting business activities in the field of manufacturing and trading in explosives, weapons, ammunition and products and technology for military or police purposes).
