We are seeking an experienced Cloud engineer, with understanding of DoD’s Platform One architecture to join our Edge team. As a Cloud engineer, you will play a crucial role in deploying, and maintaining different platforms. These platforms will include hybrid cloud environments. 

Your responsibilities will include ensuring our container infrastructure is deployed to specified environments; it can handle changes in demand; remains reliable; and runs efficiently. Additionally, you’ll collaborate with development and operations teams to streamline application deployment and management processes for edge systems.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Work with other Edge team members to address future enhancements and/or bug fixes.
  • Work closely with the DAF CLOUDworks in-region Platform team to keep pace with updates and changes associated with the DAF CLOUDworks Operation DevSecOps ISR Next Gen (ODIN) environment.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Potentially develop, test, and operate software automations to existing or new processes.


You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • TS / SCI clearance.
  • Security + or CISSP Certification.
  • Bachelor’s in computer science or related engineering disciplines and 8 years of related experience. May substitute additional 5 years relevant experience in lieu of a degree or 3 years functional experience with a non-technical degree.
  • Familiarity with multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud environments.
  • Very strong application integration skills.
  • Understanding of DevSecOps principles, including integrating security into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) practices.
  • Experience with Git Ops and version control software (e.g. Git).
  • Familiarity with tools such as Helm, Kustomize, ArgoCD, Istio and Terraform.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication abilities. Work closely and communicate with a cross-functional team.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming languages (e.g., Golang, Python, Java, C#, Bash).
  • Very strong Linux knowledge (preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux).


These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of scripting languages, such as, python, cinc, etc.
  • Any Amazon Web Services (AWS) certifications.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to include services such as VPC, EC2, IAM, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch.
  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g, Helm, Ansible).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform).
  • Experience with access management and client account technical support (SSO, Keycloak, Appgate).
  • Experience with/or willing to learn Kubernetes

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$99,000 - $217,700
