Job Description:

The Senior Analyst is an integral member of the Enterprise Strategic Analytics + Data Science team (ESA+DS), providing analytical support and contributing to data-driven solutions that enhance business performance. This role is designed as a development path into the Analytics Consultant position, allowing candidates to gain hands-on experience in analytical methodologies, business problem-solving, and stakeholder collaboration. The Senior Analyst will assist in executing analytical projects, refining technical skills, and supporting strategic initiatives within the organization.

What You'll Do: 

  • Analytical Project Execution:

    • Support analytical projects, applying appropriate methodologies and techniques, under the guidance of Analytics Partners.

    • Conduct data exploration, cleaning, and preparation to ensure data quality and integrity.

    • Develop and implement analytical models, leveraging statistical and machine learning techniques as needed.

    • Generate actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis.

    • Communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences through clear visualizations and presentations.

    • Actively participate in the implementation and deployment of analytical solutions.

  • Strategic Partnership:

    • Work closely with Analytics Consultants and Analytics Partners to understand business challenges and analytical needs.

    • Proactively identify opportunities to leverage analytics to drive business value and improve decision-making.

    • Translate business needs into well-defined analytical projects, outlining scope, objectives, and success metrics.

    • Conduct comprehensive business assessments and needs analyses to inform project prioritization and execution.

    • Support Analytics Partners in executing work against the strategic roadmap.

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Demonstrate proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R).

    • Utilize data visualization tools to create clear and impactful presentations.

    • Stay abreast of emerging analytical techniques and technologies.

    • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to data and analysis.

    • Contribute to the development and maintenance of data pipelines and analytical infrastructure.

  • Collaboration and Mentorship:

    • Work closely with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and other team members to deliver comprehensive solutions.

    • Proactively communicate with Analytics Partners regarding insights, progress and challenges with analyses.

    • Contribute to a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment within the team.

    • Foster cross-functional collaboration and alignment to ensure successful project outcomes.

What We're Looking For: 

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Economics, Finance, Math, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field required.

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in consulting, analytics, data science, or a related field, with demonstrated success in delivering analytical projects required.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business problems into analytical frameworks required.

  • Proven experience performing business analysis or financial/statistical data analysis, preferably in a retail environment required.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and knowledge of Business Intelligence Tools (such as Microsoft Power BI) required.

  • Knowledge of syndicated data like Circana and Nielsen is a plus.

  • Knowledge of SPSS, Palantir, or Python, is a plus.

  • Knowledge of cloud-based platforms (such as Databricks) is a plus.
