Job Description

What is the opportunity? 

RBC Insurance Regulatory Initiatives and Business Continuity Management team is looking for a Senior Business Continuity Analyst. The senior analyst is responsible for the overall maintenance, execution, and monitoring of continuity activities ensuring all business lines are adhering to the established maximum level of preparedness. The senior will be the first point of contact to support the management of incidents and coordination of crisis management execution.

What will you do? 

•Maintain the business continuity management program aligned with the enterprise BCM program framework

•Update, maintain and test the inventory of Critical & Significant business services

•Provide subject matter expertise and work directly with the business to document BCM plans

•Identify RBCI business unit recovery time and point objective gaps, and the development of appropriate workarounds

•Contribute and participate in BCM related committees, working groups and training as required

•Manage and support the planning of work area recovery/ Call Tree exercise testing

•Conduct and participate in tabletop training through exercise types that validate plans assumptions by exercising the interactions of people, process and technology risk and vulnerabilities

What will you need to succeed? 

Must have:

•Minimum 3 to 5 years of BCM/BCP experience

•Demonstrated knowledge of the BCM and Operational Resilience framework in an advisory role

•Strong experience in developing effective partnerships and effective challenge

•Strong program management skills with the ability to create and execute detailed plans

•Strategic vision in support of incident/crisis execution

•Strong presentation skills (written and verbal) and ability to demonstrate experience in effective communication targeted to different audiences

Nice to have:

•Strongly recommended a Business Continuity Certification (ABCP) or equivalent

•Experience with Operational Resiliency including understanding of third-party process dependencies

•Demonstrated knowledge of Insurance operations
