Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Equipment and Foundry Project Engineer Level 2 or 3 for our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) - located in Linthicum, Maryland (near Baltimore) – where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs.
Northrop Grumman’s ATL semiconductor foundry is a unique capability supporting a range of production microelectronic devices (Silicon, Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, Silicon Carbide, Carbon Nanotubes) and providing leading edge technology development in superconducting electronics. Our devices enable a number of Northrop Grumman’s ground-based radars, avionic radars, and space systems. Our multidisciplinary foundry team enables activities from development to sustainment process engineering. ATL is responsible for all aspects of semiconductor technology including design, mask making, wafer fabrication, test, and assembly.
The selected candidate will be expected to design, implement, and troubleshoot critical projects both in the cleanroom and office spaces to support programs executing production within the facility. This can include:
Semiconductor tool installations, relocations, and documentation
CAD layouts and part design
Evaluate current state of facility, propose improvements, and drive solutions to completion
Lead cross-organizational projects
Assist with facility expansion projects
This position may be filled as an Equipment and Foundry Project Engineer Level 2 or Equipment and Foundry Project Engineer Level 3.
Basic qualifications Equipment and Foundry Project Engineer Level 2:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical / systems / computer / mechanical engineering or related STEM discipline and 2 years of experience.
Basic knowledge of Electrical Engineering / Circuitry principles.
Programming experience with MATLAB or similar for data analysis.
Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, 3d printing software).
Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and nontechnical personnel.
Ability to support projects through entire lifecycle including conception, design, testing, and implementation stages.
US citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance are required.
Basic qualifications Equipment and Foundry Project Engineer Level 3:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical / systems / computer / mechanical engineering or related STEM discipline and 5 years of experience; Masters' degree and 3 years of experience.
Basic knowledge of Electrical Engineering / Circuitry principles.
Programming experience with MATLAB or similar for data analysis.
Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, 3d printing software).
Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and nontechnical personnel.
Ability to support projects through entire lifecycle including conception, design, testing, and implementation stages.
US citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance are required.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with electrical hardware / large scale power distribution systems.
Familiarity with Confluence and Jira to support larger team picture.
Experience working in a cleanroom environment.
Management or tracking of projects through a product life cycle.
Previous equipment engineering experience
Knowledge of mechanical room equipment
