The Opportunity:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced IT security professional to join our team and provide specialized recommendations and security solutions to complex technical challenges. In this role, you will integrate IT security processes into a risk-driven, coordinated approach to ensure the protection of all data, systems, and enclaves as outlined in System Security Plans (SSPs).

You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure that security measures align with broader cybersecurity mission requirements. Your expertise will be crucial in analyzing and evaluating current security practices, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending optimization strategies to enhance overall security posture.

Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the appropriate operational security posture is maintained for information systems (IS) by continuously monitoring and assessing compliance with established security measures. Key responsibilities include:

  • Security Posture Management: Regularly assess and monitor the security posture of information systems to ensure they meet established security measures and policies, identifying and addressing any potential gaps or vulnerabilities.

  • Cybersecurity Engineering Expertise: Provide expert guidance on cybersecurity engineering practices across information systems and programs, ensuring security best practices are integrated into the design, implementation, and maintenance of systems.

  • Insider Threat Analysis: Conduct detailed fact-finding analysis to detect and deter insider threats, utilizing advanced techniques to identify risks and vulnerabilities stemming from within the organization.

  • Reporting and Documentation: Develop and present clear hypotheses and conclusions from security assessments, producing comprehensive reports to support decision-making and risk management.

  • Security Guidance Development: Create and update security guidance and recommendations for various IT domains, ensuring alignment with best practices, compliance standards, and organizational security requirements.

  • Project Participation: Participate in medium to large-scale, complex information and system security projects, contributing expertise to key phases of these projects, ensuring security requirements are met.

  • Project Delivery: Ensure the successful and timely delivery of cybersecurity projects in alignment with Government requirements, working collaboratively with stakeholders to meet deadlines and achieve project objectives.

This position requires a proactive individual capable of balancing technical expertise with strategic oversight, ensuring security risks are effectively managed and projects are executed to the highest standards.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Current Active TS/SCI with POLY

  • Twelve (12) years experience with System Security or related customer-interfacing technical lead position. Two (2) years technical project leadership experience. Masters of Science (MS) degree in, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Forensics, or related field from an accredited college or university.

  • In lieu of a MS degree, a Bachelor’s of Science (BS) degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Forensics, or related field, and an additional two (2) years of System Security experience may be substituted.

Desired:

  • Familiarity with Network Security Services and Chief Information Security Officer processes and procedures.

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$109,800 - $241,600
