Sunday – Thursday | 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Summary
Join Wentworth-Douglass Hospital and help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. As an Environmental Services Floor Technician, you will play an important role in supporting infection prevention, patient safety, and overall hospital operations through specialized floor care and environmental services responsibilities.

Essential Functions
* Sweep, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors throughout the hospital
* Operate high- and low-speed stripping and buffing machines
* Vacuum and shampoo carpets in assigned areas
* Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, equipment, and woodwork
* Clean walls, ceilings, windows, blinds, door glass, and related surfaces
* Clean and sanitize restroom facilities and replenish supplies
* Empty, clean, and sanitize waste receptacles
* Set up tables, chairs, and equipment for hospital events and daily operations
* Pick up debris around hospital buildings and grounds
* Identify and report building maintenance or safety concerns
* Maintain hospital cleanliness, infection prevention, and safety standards
* Provide professional and courteous customer service to patients, visitors, and staff
Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent preferred
* 2–3 years of experience working with cleaning equipment and chemicals used in hospitals or healthcare settings required
* Previous floor care, environmental services, housekeeping, or custodial experience preferred
* Ability to operate floor care equipment or willingness to learn
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
* Good communication and comprehension skills
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively
* Ability to lift, push, and pull equipment and supplies as needed
* Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift
