We are hiring a Marketing Operations Manager!
The Marketing Operations Manager will be the backbone of our marketing infrastructure for Sensus's electric, gas and water divisions—driving efficiency, scalability, and data-driven decision-making across campaigns and platforms. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with a passion for technology, analytics, and process optimization who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
Marketing Technology & Infrastructure
Own and optimize marketing tools, including Salesforce, Marketo, and content/file management platforms.
Drive governance and scalability of marketing systems to ensure efficiency and best-in-class performance.
Partner with IT, the web team and Sales Operations to ensure seamless integration and data flow across platforms.
Lead change management efforts to maximize adoption and ROI of marketing technology.
Lead Generation & Management
Design and manage end-to-end lead generation workflows, including campaign setup, lead scoring, and routing.
Build and optimize nurture/drip campaigns in Marketo, leveraging A/B testing and best practices for continuous improvement.
Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to refine lead attribution and qualification criteria, improving conversion rates.
Develop reporting frameworks to track lead performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
Data & Analytics
Source, structure, and maintain marketing data to support campaign performance, customer segmentation, and strategic decision-making.
Oversee data hygiene initiatives, including cleaning customer lists, Marketo database maintenance, and addressing redundancy issues.
Work with business segment leads to track campaign schedules and ensure alignment across divisions.
Develop and manage dashboards that provide actionable insights for stakeholders.
Reporting & ROI Measurement
Build and maintain marketing performance dashboards, including tagging frameworks, attribution models, and ROI tracking.
Deliver regular reporting to stakeholders, highlighting trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
Support quarterly business reviews and strategic planning with data-driven insights.
Cross-Functional Alignment
Act as a connector between marketing, sales, product, and executive teams to ensure consistent processes and shared learnings.
Navigate organizational dynamics to drive consensus and alignment across divisions.
Lead change management efforts related to marketing operations and technology adoption.
Qualifications & Skills
5+ years of experience in marketing operations, preferably in B2B or industrial sectors.
Deep expertise in Salesforce, Marketo, and other marketing automation and CRM tools.
Demonstrated success in building and scaling lead management processes.
Strong analytical skills with experience in data visualization and performance reporting.
Proven ability to maintain clean, accurate, and consistent marketing data across systems.
Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proven ability to influence and align cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization.
Experience working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in utilities, smart metering, or industrial technology sectors.
Familiarity with 80/20 principles and customer-centric marketing strategies.
Certification in Salesforce or Marketo is a plus.
Salary: The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 to $110,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range. At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
