What would you do? We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our Service Group as a Electrical / Instrumentation & Control (I&C) 3D Modeler/Draftsman. In this role, you will be contributing to the execution of the 3D modelling and the preparation of electrical / I&C engineering drawings and documents, within the Service Group which provides engineering services for EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractors in the Oil & Gas industry. Your understanding in electrical / I&C design modelling and communication skills will be pivotal in ensuring the successful execution of projects and maintaining strong client relationships. Qualifications and skills: • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Electrical or Electronics or Instrumentation/Automation/Controls engineering. Specialization or coursework in 2D CAD drafting and 3D modeling is advantageous. • 4+ years’ experience as electrical / instrumentation and control engineering draftsman/3D modeler. Previous experience in the Oil & Gas industry and/or with EPC contractors is preferential. • Strong proficiency in one or more 2D computer-aided design (CAD) applications such as AutoCAD/CADWorx/Revit and Microstation and, Electrical / I&C 3D modelling tools like Smart Plant 3D, Autodesk 3D, AVEVA E3D, Revit MEP and similar, and design tools such as Smart Plant Electrical, Smart Plant Instrumentation.
What are we looking for? • Reviewing and interpreting electrical and instrumentation and control (I&C) engineering drawings, such as single line diagrams, schematics, equipment layouts, and cable routing drawings, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), loop diagrams, instrument location plans, and control panel layouts. • Creating detailed electrical drawings, including wiring diagrams, lighting layouts, control panel layouts, cable schedules, and grounding plans, instrument loop diagrams, instrument installation details, cable schedules, control panel layouts, and wiring diagrams using computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD/CADWorx/Revit and Microstation. • Incorporating design changes and markups into existing drawings and ensuring accuracy and compliance with design standards and specifications. • Developing 3D models of electrical and I&C systems, equipment, and components such as cabinets, enclosures, junction boxes, cable trays, instruments and others using software such as Smart Plant 3D, Autodesk 3D, AVEVA E3D or other equivalent 3D modeling tools. • Creating 3D visualizations of electrical and I&C equipment for project presentations, coordination, and clash detection with other disciplines. • Coordinating with other engineering disciplines, such as civil and mechanical/piping to ensure clash-free design. • Incorporating as-built information and field modifications into electrical and I&C drawings and models. • Collaborating with electrical and I&C engineers and designers to resolve design issues, optimize layouts, and ensure compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements. • Assisting in the preparation of electrical and I&C material take-offs (MTOs), bill of quantities (BOQs), and material requisition. • Reviewing vendor drawings and documentation for electrical and I&C equipment and components. • Assisting in the preparation of construction documents, including specifications, installation details, and technical submittals for electrical and I&C systems. • Participating in design reviews and coordination meetings to address technical issues, provide support, and ensure proper implementation of electrical and I&C designs. • Adhering to project schedules and deadlines for the completion of drafting and modeling deliverables. • Maintaining and organizing drawing files, models, and documentation in accordance with company standards. • Document the modeling process for future reference and audits"
Roles and Responsibilities: • Solid understanding of electrical / I&C engineering principles. • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical / I&C engineering schemes and diagrams. • Effective communication skills to effectively collaborate with electrical engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to address design issues, incorporate design changes, and ensure coordination with other disciplines. • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and multinational environment"
