Your role and responsibilities

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated Patient Care Assistant to join our friendly team supporting our team of highly skilled Specialists, Residents, Interns, and Nurses.

The perfect candidate would be keen to develop their knowledge and experience within the Veterinary Industry. This is a full-time (on average 35 hours per week), permanent position with shifts between 7.30am-8.30pm. You will participate in a weekend and Bank Holiday rota.

Your role will be working with in a team of other Diagnostics Patient Care Assistants assisting in the smooth running of our diagnostics department. The role will be a rotational position rolling through Endoscopy, Ultrasound and Wards on a weekly basis and will offer the opportunity to gain a more in depth knowledge of these areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working alongside Clinicians & Nurses setting up for and assisting with patient diagnostic procedures and processing samples.
  • Dog walking, feeding and giving oral medications.
  • Cleaning and maintenance of our hospital
  • Helping to restrain patients during procedures
  • Providing ever so important TLC to the patients within our care.

Full training and support will be provided, however, experience within a similar role or a PCA role is essential. You will have the opportunity to build upon your existing skillset through a thorough and supported induction. The role will enable the successful candidate to complete the Linnaeus Diagnostics Technician PCA

You need to be a highly motivated self-starter with the:

  • Desire to provide gold standard care to all our patients
  • Ability and initiative to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Inclination to learn and develop your clinical skills.

You must fulfil the following requirements:

  • Have an excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Maintain a professional and caring approach in all aspects of your work
  • Provide evidence of your Right to Work in the UK
  • Previous experience within a similar role would be advantageous
