The role helps support cross-functional areas to ensure that initiatives and programs are coordinated and aligned with organizational objectives, with broader responsibilities focused on portfolio management, establishing and improving operating models and frameworks. The Manager of Portfolio Management team leads a team of Portfolio Managers and partners with the leads of Product and Technology Areas/Families to oversee the flow of work through system, including intake, prioritization, tracking and reporting, to enable the business teams and leadership see progress, remove blockers and make decisions needed to deliver the most value to the organization. Develops and coaches teams to be able to identify, manage, and escalate risk, and effectively manages risk within the teams you oversee.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with product and technology leaders to drive value-based prioritization of work through financial evaluation of investments, development of business strategy and approach to translating ideas into executable portfolios that align with vision and strategy. Provide transparency and insights into the expected value of portfolio work.
  • Champion enterprise due diligence process and the product delivery life cycle. Partner with the business to oversee the flow of work through system, including intake, prioritization, tracking and reporting, to enable the business teams and leadership see progress, remove blockers, and make decisions needed to deliver the most value to the organization.
  • Facilitate the Intake process for new work entering the portfolio, ensuring work is aligned to goals and has clearly defined scope and value and gains all necessary approvals (i.e., risk, architecture, finance etc.).
  • Build community, foster inter-team collaboration and problem solve. Have a direct and positive impact on people and teams; be accountable for the development of others. Mentor and assist more junior team members. Manage team capacity, develop schedules, set deadlines, delegate tasks to team members and hold team accountable to meeting deadlines.
  • Provide transparency and insights to the work and value expected within the Product work portfolio to reflect the priorities and efficiency of delivery to drive actions and decisions. Support creation of portfolio-level reporting materials, including scorecards, Jira dashboards, and other.
  • Orchestrate workflows across teams and complex portfolios in a matrixed operating model to align on timing of delivery and ensure operational readiness, risk assessments, and training considerations have been made to enable utilization and go to market of products.
  • Drive or assist research and/or brainstorming sessions; helps promote a culture of innovation within the department. Translate ideas and concepts into an executable projects.
  • Oversee the planning of Initiatives from inceptions through implementation and ensure adherence to industry, technology and business processes and standards.

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and Management or related
  • 6+ years of Portfolio Management or related experience
  • In lieu of degree, 8+ years of Portfolio Management or related experience

Preferred Qualifications

If we had our say, we’d also look for:

  • 8+ years of experience in Product, Business, Technical, or related field
  • 3+ years in PMO experience
  • Fundamental understanding of Product delivery lifecycle, Project/Program management methodology, JIRA, SDLC and Agile methodology.

Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $88,500.00 to $149,300.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
