Oversees and manages the warehouse by verifying accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments and orders, loading, and unloading trucks, and maintaining accurate inventory.
Displays merchandise, suggests selections that meet customer’s needs, and emphasizes selling points of articles such as quality and reliability. Relieves on counter as required and assists in preparing merchandise for display and for sale.
Answers customer questions concerning prices and uses of merchandise. Takes phone and fax orders and verifies for input into the system. Ensures proper, correct pricing.
Communicates with supervisor and outside sales representatives on customer orders, requirements, problems or concerns and changes.
Enters sales data into the computer and researches information for customers using the computer system.
Backup Driver Responsibilities:
Deliver compressed gas cylinders and liquid cylinders to customers on a scheduled route.
Load and unload trucks, pick up empty cylinders, and return them to the plant for refilling.
Maintain proper vehicle documentation and a professional appearance.

Valid TX Class A or B Commercial Driver's License.
Valid Medical Examiner's Card.
Hazmat & Airbrake Certifications.
Must have one (1) year of prior Class A or B professional driving experience within the last five (5) years and a clean driving record to include no more than two (2) convictions, OR two (2) at-fault accidents in the last three years; OR no more than a combination of one (1) conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last three years.
In lieu of experience, may consider accepting a diploma from an accredited driving school and a minimum of one (1) year of prior driving experience within the last five (5) years.
Must be at least 21 years or older.
Ability to participate and maintain customers' safety credentials to be able to enter the assigned sites.
Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
Ability to routinely lift 25 – 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending is also required.
Minimum of two (2) years of related product and sales experience or training.
Strong background in gas, welding and safety supply industry or chemical industry preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated proficiency in utilizing a computer, including data entry and integrated business platforms.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSA’s):
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.
Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
Strong level of attention to detail.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, division of all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
Ability to perform work during prolonged standing up to 8 hours; frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, feeling and repetitive motion also required.
