Multi-site Dermatology Group Seeks Senior Financial Analyst

Optima Dermatology is recruiting a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Practice Support Center, based in Portsmouth, NH.

Position Details:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Financial Analyst to join our finance team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting strategic decision-making through financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have advanced analytical skills, strong business acumen, and the ability to communicate financial insights effectively to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):

  • Support & lead the preparation, development, and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasts and budgets.
  • Perform variance analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks in financial performance.
  • Prepare and present financial performance reports to senior management, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Assist in the development of long-term financial projections and strategic plans.

Reporting and Data Analysis:

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Analyze financial data to identify key business drivers and trends.
  • Create and maintain financial models to support business cases, capital expenditures, and investment decisions.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reports as needed to support business decisions.

Process Improvement:

  • Recommend and implement process improvements for budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes and improve the accuracy and efficiency of financial data.
  • Assist in the automation of reporting processes using financial systems and tools.

Business Partnership:

  • Partner with business leaders across departments to provide financial insights that support operational and strategic objectives.
  • Assist with financial analysis for pricing, cost management, and investment decisions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to non-financial departments, translating financial data into actionable business strategies.

Compliance and Control:

  • Ensure adherence to financial policies, internal controls, and accounting standards.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing relevant documentation and responding to audit queries.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and support the integrity of financial data.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA or CFA is a plus).
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, or related roles.
  • Experience in healthcare is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including complex formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling).
  • Experience with financial planning software and tools (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex financial data to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data-driven insights to senior management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • High attention to detail, with a strong focus on accuracy and integrity of financial data.
