About the role:
We are seeking experienced and highly skilled Clinical Nurses (CNs) to join our dynamic Operating Theatre team across several specialities at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside. These permanent positions require strong clinical leadership, advanced specialty skills, and a commitment to excellence in perioperative care.
Clinical Nurse – Cardiac
This role supports our expanding cardiac service and requires advanced specialty capability. Requirements:
Minimum 5 years’ experience scrubbing in cardiac surgery
Ability to scrub for complex cardiac procedures
Experience responding to cardiac emergencies in theatre
Strong leadership and ability to mentor staff within the cardiac specialty
Clinical Nurse – Vascular
This position supports both open and endovascular vascular surgery. Requirements:
Minimum 5 years’ experience scrubbing in vascular surgery
Competence in both open vascular and endoscopic/endovascular procedures
Experience working in a Hybrid Theatre environment
Ability to support complex vascular cases and guide junior staff
Clinical Nurse – Orthopaedics
This role supports our high‑volume orthopaedic service. Requirements:
Minimum 5 years’ experience scrubbing in orthopaedic surgery
Ability to scrub for:
Primary joint replacements
Revision joint procedures
Robotic‑assisted joint surgery
Strong understanding of orthopaedic instrumentation and workflow

Things that work for us:
Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
Minimum 3 – 5 years in a perioperative setting working across either, Cardiac, Orthopaedics or Vascular
Ability to work autonomously whilst being able to also work within a multidisciplinary team
Strong communication and patient advocacy skills
