What You Will Contribute:
 

The Solution Architect Manager, Business Applications will be responsible for bringing expertise in database systems, preferably with a background in DB2. This role acts as a change agent and will drive innovation across the organization.

Job Duties:

  • ERP Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert in ERP systems, assessing business needs, and recommending appropriate ERP solutions. The candidate should be agnostic and open to various ERP platforms, aligning them with Badger Meter's evolving needs.

  • Database Proficiency: Utilize in-depth knowledge of DB2 or similar database systems to design and maintain efficient data structures and systems that support business processes and analytics.

  • Change Agent: Be a catalyst for change by identifying and implementing opportunities to optimize and enhance IT solutions, improving efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.

  • Collaborative Culture: Embrace and promote a collaborative and inclusive culture, working closely with cross-functional teams, and fostering innovation throughout the organization.

  • System Integration: Leverage expertise in Salesforce, document control, and other business systems to architect seamless integration and ensure data consistency across the organization.

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and maintain the IT architectural roadmap, aligning it with Badger Meter's business objectives, and ensuring IT solutions support long-term growth and success.

  • Solution Design: Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze business requirements, design holistic solutions, and ensure that IT systems are scalable, secure, and cost-effective.

  • Technology Evaluation: Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices, making recommendations for adoption where they align with Badger Meter's objectives.

  • Mentorship and Leadership: Provide guidance to junior team members, foster their professional development, and share your knowledge within the organization.

  • General understanding of Badger Meter's overall system portfolio in order to make high level determinations of what system and team would best satisfy new requirements.  This would include tools like Customer Relationship Management, Configure Price Quote tools among others.

  • Serve as a liaison to ERP vendors including user group participation and leadership roles, outreach to the internal user community, strategic direction of ERP including release, new feature request documentation and support, Cloud operations management and communications, and coordination of vendor support activities.

  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into relevant details, abstract up from low level information to a general understanding, and distinguish requests from the future underlying needs or desires.

  • Lead cutover planning for application/system deployment.

  • Develop a long term organization structure that fosters process analysis skill sets both inside of traditional IT as well as inside of key functional business areas such as supply chain, finance, and operations.

  • 25% travel required

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Business Management or a related field required; Master's Degree preferred

  • 7+ years of preferred experience in IT/IT Management, Supply Chain Operations, Finance or a related field

  • APICS (American Production Inventory Control Society) certification preferred

Qualifications:

  • Intermediate understanding of MRP Supply Chain Planning required

  • Intermediate understanding of Cost Account/Financials required

  • Advanced understanding of ERP Migrations required

  • Advanced understanding of SQL required

  • Intermediate understanding of ETL Tools (i.e. Jitterbug) required

  • Advanced Change Management skills required

  • Intermediate understanding of strategic planning required
