Position Title: Right Start for Infant Mental Health Extern
Location: Dahlia Campus for Health and Well-Being; 3401 Eudora St., Denver, CO 80207
Brief Program Description: The Right Start for Infant Mental Health team is an outpatient program for pregnant individuals and families with a child aged birth to five years. The team works exclusively with peripartum individuals, infants, toddlers, preschoolers and their families. Many families are involved with child welfare due to documented histories of child abuse and neglect and involvement with the foster care system. We complete an initial evaluation process utilizing assessment measures such as the Working Model of the Child Interview and the Crowell Play Procedure to better understand various aspects of the caregiver/child relationship and identify areas for clinical intervention. We offer comprehensive, trauma-informed, attachment-focused interventions, and utilize several evidence-based practices including Child Parent Psychotherapy, Parent Child Interaction Therapy, Circle of Security, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy. The Right Start team is located at the Dahlia Campus for Health and Well-being in North Park Hill, a unique and innovative space developed to support multi-generational families in the community and featuring a 40,000 ft urban garden and aquaponics greenhouse, a dental clinic, a preschool, and a day treatment program.
