About the role: We are seeking a skilled and dynamic “Hands on” Manager of Software Engineering to lead a team of software developers in designing and maintaining high-quality software solutions. We look for a foundation in JavaEE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and Cloud-based technologies.

About the team: This Agile team of developers is entrusted to build a Data intensive  suite of applications to support one of our core products in our Insurance vertical.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining scalable, robust, and secure applications using JavaEE, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
  • Adept at fostering a collaborative team environment, ensuring code quality, and driving software development best practices. Driving code reviews, provide critical design assistance, and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Identifying and implementing strategies for improving application architecture and security. Writing advanced complex code for a component and serve as a senior source of expertise.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to manage sprint backlogs, sprint planning, and other sprint ceremonies effectively.
  • Overseeing production support processes to ensure quick turnaround for support tickets.
  • Identifying and executing opportunities to reduce cloud and technology costs.
  • Mentoring team members, providing constructive feedback and driving performance management processes. Resolve conflicts within the team, fostering a productive and positive working environment.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in software engineering and managing development teams.
  • Expertise in JavaEE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and SQL.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms and cost optimization strategies.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and sprint processes.
  • Experience with application architecture improvements and tech stack upgrades.
  • Knowledge of AI tools and their application in development workflows, Ex : Github Co-pilot/agent.
