Overview:

The Finance Manager plays a critical role in strengthening financial governance while transforming the finance function into a forward-looking, digitally enabled business partner.
This role leads financial operations with strong compliance, drives automation and process excellence, and develops finance talent to support sustainable growth in ZEISS Korea.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Governance & Compliance Excellence

  • Ensure strong financial governance in compliance with IFRS, local statutory requirements, and ZEISS Group policies.

  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, statutory reporting, and audit coordination (internal and external).

  • Lead corporate tax compliance, including CIT, VAT, BEPS reporting, and National Tax Service filings, while proactively managing tax risks arising from business transactions.

  • Act as the primary finance interface with external auditors, tax authorities, and internal stakeholders.

2. Business Partnership & Decision Support

  • Provide timely, insightful financial analysis to support management decision-making and business performance optimization.

  • Translate financial data into actionable insights for business leaders, enabling growth, profitability, and risk-aware decision-making.

  • Support HQ reporting and communication, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and alignment with global finance requirements.

3. Finance Transformation & Operational Excellence

  • Drive continuous improvement of finance processes through standardization, simplification, and automation.

  • Leverage digital tools, SAP FI/CO expertise, and emerging AI-enabled solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of finance operations.

  • Lead Finance Operational Excellence initiatives to reduce manual work, enhance controls, and improve end-to-end process effectiveness.

  • Lead or actively contribute to ERP transformation initiatives, including migration to SAP S/4HANA, ensuring business continuity, data integrity, and enhanced financial transparency.

4. Systems & Data Enablement

  • Act as SAP FI/CO Key User, ensuring system integrity, effective month-end closing, and resolution of complex system issues.

  • Promote data quality, transparency, and automation to enable faster closing cycles and improved financial visibility.

5. Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and innovation.

  • Build future-ready finance capabilities by empowering team members and encouraging digital and analytical skill development.

  • Serve as a role model for collaboration, integrity, and proactive problem-solving within the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Tax, or related fields; CPA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.

  • Minimum 15+ years of relevant experience in accounting, tax, or finance roles, including audit and tax compliance exposure.

  • 10+ years of experience in a global or multinational company environment.

  • Proven experience in audit defense (CIT) and managing complex tax and accounting issues.

  • Hands-on experience in ERP transformation projects, including SAP S/4HANA migration, preferably in a multinational or complex business environment.

  • Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken).

  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment with strong problem-solving capabilities.
