Job Description Summary

The Lead Buyer will be responsible for supporting End to End Sourcing / Procurement processes related to Field Services Sourcing Operations.
The Lead Buyer will be responsible to negotiate and release field service purchase orders at the right time and right quality within the specified targets/budget. The Lead Buyer is responsible to settle claims with conditions favorable to Steam Power. The Lead Buyer is responsible to apply sourcing policy; interface between supplier and business with respect to order to remittance. Requires strong foundation and knowledge in procurement/ sourcing. The Lead Buyer will be the regional contact for Steam Power Customer Service Managers.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Leads commercial responsibility for the purchasing activities
  • RFQ, negotiate, place and follow-up on Purchase Orders (execution and fulfillment)
  • Manage relationships with suppliers including commercial issues and schedule changes
  • Update ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)
  • Develop solutions under guidance and/or in a team setting
  • Balance tactical execution with strategic initiatives necessary to drive cost/lead time reduction
  • Negotiate Terms of Purchase
  • Leads the regional commercial supplier on-boarding (manage supplier master data) and collaborates with Supplier Quality for product/process qualification
  • Work together with all levels of the business including SPB (Senior Professional Band) and EB (Executive Band) level Support the commodity strategy, target panel and action plan developed by Commodity Leaders
  • Develop awareness/knowledge of field services  
  • Lead supplier performance reviews
  • Work cross functionally with operations team

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 6 years professional Sourcing / Procurement experience, or similar field
  • Fluent in English, additional languages welcome
