Mission Statement:
Contribute with senior existing knowledge to the development, extension and maintenance of the StarDry platform, consulting for factories on usage of Mechanical Design System and drive further development done by Mechanical Design Platform team of systems used today and in the future in the GPG DT for mechanical design. Actively promote standardization initiatives within the GPG – both referred to established products and new developed products. Provide dedicated support for training new mechanical designers in the engineering teams.
Your responsibilities:
- You will understand deeply the mechanical design of DRY standard products – and work with GPG Engineering Manager, Mechanical Design Platform manager in delivering timely needed developments.
- Work with all Technology Centers teams on establish and furthering a common body of technical standards and work with technical standard owners on implementing contents in the mechanical design platform.
- Give an expert opinion whenever a gap analysis is needed – in view of establishing common design platform and/or acknowledging differences or accepted variations from common features.
- You will understand the landscape of software applications that need to interact with Mechanical Design Platform and have the capability to foster the communication by developing software solutions.
- Work together with other Technology Centers for the realization of Technical Standards for all the new products – and then be the transmission link to the CDS mechanical team.
- You will act as the link between the GPG, the various HUBs and the CDS mechanical team.
- Discuss with the HUBs all Bug Reports and Change Requests. Then together with Mechanical design platform manager decide on priorities and actions.
- Be the first contact point for the HUBs for questions regarding the CDS mechanical.
- You will be providing feedback and influence the GPG improvement projects (with mechanical, standardization content, coordinate activities with GMR, SCM and factories).
- Propose new ideas to improve productivity in factories through the use of new technologies
- You will coordinate activities with GLOMUS team.
- Track & implement DTV ideas and Teardown project result.
- Responsible for the implementation of new technologies in Mechanical design platform.
- Identify and select most important /appropriate features that should build the common part of GPG mechanical design platform;
- Technical design: finding the right balance GPG and HUB requirements.
- You will be involved in change management in a culturally diverse environment.
- Be one of the promoters of new solutions with stress on global view.
- Deliver projects in time and budget achieving the intended objectives.

Your background:
- A university degree plus 5+ years design experience with GPG DT products (mechanical/electrical background)
- Profound knowledge of mechanical design of DRY type transformer.
- Understanding of differences between IEC and other regional international standards.
- Solid knowledge of CDS mechanical and of the technology used for the development (Rules Engine, CDSm, Toolkits, Configuration, etc.);
- Solid knowledge of Creo modelling (Pro/Program, Sheet-Metal, Family table, Interchange, Relation, Skeleton, Assembly,)
- Solid knowledge at least of one programming language (.Net, C++, Python, etc.)
- Willingness and ability to interact with colleagues in all our HUBs – in different time zones
- Problem solving skills and ability to troubleshoot CAD-related issues
- Willingness to travel and ability to interact with colleagues in all our PGUs is necessary, as position is Global.
