Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Analysis
• Lead & manage soil and plant tissue analysis according to established SOPs.
• Manage laboratory instruments such as:
AAS
Spectrophotometer
pH meter
EC meter
Analyze: Macro nutrients, Micronutrients, Soil pH, CEC, organic carbon, EC, texture
• Ensure analytical accuracy and consistency.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Follow QA/QC procedures and laboratory safety standards.
Manage calibration and routine maintenance of instruments.
Participate in proficiency testing and internal quality checks.
Maintain proper documentation and traceability of sample
Safety & compliance: chemical handling, hazard communication, biosafety basic, waste disposal regulations, emergency response, lab risk assessment, PPE compliance.
Data & Reporting
Record analytical data accurately in laboratory systems.
Review and validate analytical results.
Control chart update and review
Prepare laboratory reports for agronomy and plantation teams.
Assist in data trending and interpretation.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in:
Soil Science/Agronomy or
Analytical Chemistry – mandatory hands on with soil & tissue samples
Preferred Qualifications
1–3 years’ experience in agricultural or environmental laboratory – hands on soil-tissue samples.
Technical Skills
Fundamental of soil science: chemistry, physics, nutrient cycling, CEC, pH & buffering, organic matters dynamic, salinity & sodicity, tropical soil behavior.
Familiarity with wet chemistry and analytical laboratory methods.
Experience operating laboratory instruments.
Knowledge of QA/QC and laboratory safety.
Basic statistical and data analysis skills.
