Job Summary
This position works with customers and brokerage operations to file entry corrections to U.S. Customs.    It demonstrates advanced knowledge of entry writing and written communication skills. He/She classifies reviews the Harmonized Tariff Schedules (HTS), 19 CFR Regulations as well as CROSS Rulings to prepare corrected entries and written narratives to U.S. Customs.   


Responsibilities:

  • Reviews original entry submitted to U.S. Customs to make needed corrections provided by the customer.  
  • Main post entry processing with be post summary corrections and 520d claims. 
  • Prepares written narrative explaining to U.S. Customs why the changes are being made and providing supportive literature and details.
  • Communicates documentation discrepancies to client and supervisor.
  • Provides corrected invoices and documents to the Customer.
  • Scans entries into the imaging system meeting allotted and sensitive time requirements.
  • Follows up on documentation discrepancy issues which requires the ability to troubleshoot and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with customers and foreign origins.
  • Establishes and maintains client relationships. 


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or International equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working for a Customs Broker
  • Knowledge of customs operations, laws and regulations, and other government departments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Customers Broker License - Preferred
  • Accurate and rapid data entry
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Pay Range:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $19.10/hr to $31.00/hr. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to, market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and education/training and a candidate’s work experience. Hired applicants are offered annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs, subject to applicable eligibility requirements. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
