Lumentum is looking for Process Engineer who will work on Lumentum Ultrafast Laser products, manufactured by Lumentum International Factory in Thailand. The successful candidate will work in the sustaining engineering organization based in Thailand and will also work closely with other Lumentum teams globally.

The successful candidate should be self-motivated, a creative thinker, exhibit drive for success, process and systems oriented, hands on, work well in a cross-function team, and manage with clear and concise data with emphasis on laser manufacturing and engineering solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work together with R&D team, support product development, transfer to production and continuous improvement on responsible areas.
  • Develop assembly and manufacturing procedures for complex laser alignment
  • Responsible for hands-on manufacturing improvement and troubleshooting of Ultrafast Laser products
  • Responsible for writing assembly procedures, test procedures and edit or update work instructions
  • Provide training to production personnel
  • Provide sustaining engineering support to production to improve product cost, first pass yield and cycle time
  • Perform failure analysis and implement corrective actions (A3, 8D, FMEA)
  • Make data-driven decisions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Masters in Engineering or related fields
  •  > 5 years of Process Engineering or related experience
  • Experience with Laser alignment and assembly processes is required
  • Able to analyze data and make data-driven decisions
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minor supervision
  • Able to complete projects in a timely manner and document the results
  • Familiar with basic problem-solving techniques
  • Able to occasionally work irregular hours as required
  • Good command of English communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking)
  • Able to travel to other Engineering sites globally
