ROLE SUMMARY

The Senior Program Manager, Commercial Congress will be responsible for driving strategic direction for overall Commercial congress presence at key oncology marketing congresses. This individual will work cross functionally across multiple Commercial teams, Congress and Ad Board Excellence, Medical Affairs, external agency partners and other departments as needed to ensure that we present a strong, high-quality, and strategic Commercial presence that aligns with our Commercial goals and priorities, effectively representing Pfizer Oncology as the world-class Oncology company we strive to be. This role will report directly to the Director, Commercial Congress Strategy Team Lead.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Program Manager, Commercial Congress will be accountable for the commercial strategy, brand presence and execution of assigned key US and Ex-US congresses (i.e. ASCO, ESMO, etc.). Additionally, they will lead or collaborate on special projects as needed to define strategic support for mid-tier and lower-tier US congresses across all commercial verticals including marketing, sales, patient advocacy, etc.

  • Lead strategy and planning for commercial booth and sponsorship implementations, ensuring that the approach aligns with and is driven by commercial, therapeutic area and brand priorities in a balanced and strategic manner.
  • Collaborate with brand marketing teams on creation of booth tactics and marketing strategies that will create strong customer engagements and elevate the quality and efficacy of our presence at key congresses.
  • Effectively work cross functionally with various commercial teams, Congress and Ad Board Innovation, Medical Affairs and the external agencies to ensure excellence in planning and execution.
  • Develop, maintain and manage relationships with external vendor partners ensuring the needs of our brand teams are met, congresses are executed with exceptional quality, and all deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
  • Develop and effectively manage congress budgets to ensure maximum impact, identify cost efficiencies and demonstrate ROI for the congress channel.
  • Serve as congress SME and strategic advisor to commercial and cross functional teams, continuously researching and integrating best practices for congress execution.
  • Project manage the promotional review process for commercial booth implementations, ensuring that congress activities are in compliance with applicable state, federal, and global regulations.
  • Lead, manage and/or collaborate on special projects as assigned to support the overall commercial congress strategy and provide solutions for mid-tier and lower-tier congresses

Required

  

  • Min 7 years of relevant industry related experience   
  • Bachelor’s degree required. MBA preferred
  • Track record of strong performance, teamwork, creativity
  • Strong strategic and analytical thinking abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Acts decisively
  • Demonstrated execution and project management skills, with an ability to work very proactively and under tight timelines
  • Teamwork skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues from multiple functional areas
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities

 

Preferred

  • min of 3 years of pharmaceutical marketing, congress channel management, corporate strategy, health policy or related management consulting experience preferred 
  • In depth understanding of the healthcare market
  • Managed Care or Customer Strategy experience
  • Strong cross functional leadership experience
  • Experience in Oncology marketplace

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be willing and able to travel, US and Globally, as needed; travel currently estimated at 30% 

  • Must be willing and able to flex schedule as need to support and participate in events, including some evenings and weekends

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $117,300.00 to $195,500.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
