So what does a Facilities Manager really do?
Think of yourself as someone who will lead the operations of TaskUs' properties, oversee the construction and management of a new site and be our subject matter expert who always strives to provide a world-class workplace experience that will allow our teammates to be their best at work.
You will be responsible for coordinating and executing all necessary tasks and actions related to building and/or maintaining the site.
Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the construction of a new site (if required), ensuring that all work is completed within budget and on time
Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure that all necessary services and equipment are provided in a timely and cost-effective manner
Develop and manage the budget for the site, ensuring that all expenses are properly accounted for and that costs are controlled
Ensure compliance with all building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards
Oversee the maintenance and repair of all building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical
Develop and implement policies and procedures for the operation and maintenance of the site
Be responsible to care for the people onsite. You are expected to audit the site on a regular basis while engaging with teammates in order to understand their needs and make sure these are attended to. You are also expected to build a close relationship with your site leadership, in order to understand and address any high level issues or concerns and ensure that site operations run smoothly.
Must be willing to take ownership of end to end transactions of the housekeeping, safety and security, maintenance, food services, business continuity, and general site management.
Must have a high level of accountability that he/she must share with the rest of the team and direct reports.
Skills:
- People Engagement
Able to work with a diverse group of people of different cultures and nationality.
Able to build strong relationships with all external parties he/she will be working with, such as the property management and lessors of his/her site’s location, the local government units, other industry leaders etc.
- Engineering Maintenance
Formulate and implement preventive maintenance programs for the site relative to Architectural, AC, Plumbing, Electrical and Electronics, and other engineering disciplines.
Be able to set up, recommend upgrade or replacement of an equipment prior to failure.
- Construction Management
Must be able to vet vendors and keep relationships with them to ensure quality service and delivery is given to the company at all times.
Well versed on the standards of Building, Electrical, Sanitary, Fire Code, and other
- Housekeeping and Office Upkeep
Take lead in implementing the site’s housekeeping program.
Accountable in the overall cleanliness and orderliness of the reception, operations area, offices and conference rooms, and restrooms.
- Safety and Security
Assists the Safety and Security Team in managing the physical security operations of the site.
Helps implement the safety program of the company in coordination with the Safety and Security Team.
- Financial Management
Must have proven knowledge of financial analysis and strategy, in which he/she can use in formulating programs that will contribute to the site’s operational efficiency.
Strong Excel skills.
Comfortable interacting with all levels of management in multiple areas and discussing business financial strategies and insights.
Requirements:
At least 5 years experience in Facility management, operations and maintenance AND/OR experience in Engineering/Construction management - Hospitality/Customer Experience, Cruise ships, Resorts, Hospitals, and the like in a management/leadership capacity.
Strong moral standards and professional ethics. Able to coach and make decisions based on the highest standards of integrity.
Strong project management skills, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects from start to finish
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders/co-workers etc.
In-depth knowledge of building systems and regulations
Experience managing budgets and controlling costs
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team of staff members
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Capable of giving best judgment on escalations and emergency situations. Able to analyze situations quickly to make the best decision.
High level of Emotional Intelligence and can keep up with changes and new directions. Quick on their feet and overall good decision maker.
Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field would be considered a plus
