The Model/Anlys/Valid Sr Analyst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Economics, Actuarial Science, or Data Science. / Equivalent experience
• Technical & Analytical Skills:
-Solid foundation in finance, data science, statistics, and mathematical modeling.
-Basic knowledge of portfolio management principles and practices.
-Understanding of the AFORE pension system in Mexico, including its regulatory framework.
-Familiarity with risk management measures (e.g., VaR, stress testing, scenario analysis).
-Knowledge of financial products such as FX, equities, fixed income (bonds), and derivatives.
-Demonstrated interest in problem-solving and applying quantitative methods to business-oriented challenges.
• Experience: 4-7 years of professional experience in finance, data science, or related quantitative fields.
• Programming: Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python (pandas, TensorFlow, Keras), R, MATLAB, or C++; experience with data manipulation, statistical modeling, or machine learning is preferred.
• Languages: Intermediate to advanced proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
• Professional Development: Actively pursuing or interested in professional designations such as CFA, FRM, CAIA, ASA/FSA (SOA).
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, curiosity for financial markets, teamwork, and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to both technical and business audiences.
