Who we are looking for: 

VMLCosta Rica is looking for a FREELANCE MARTECH PM PLATFORM CONSULTANT.The PM Platform Consultant will be part of a PM team that works on mission-critical applications. You will be responsible for understanding and outlining business requirements that will be used by the interdisciplinary teams (Dev, QA, Creative), as well as participating in delivery from concept, design, and development to testing. 

 What you’ll do:  

  • Lead | requirements gathering process. 
  • Understand | the business requests, needs, and data challenges of the client’s organization and industry. 
  • Author | user stories and define acceptance criteria. 
  • Translate | the "what" from the requirements into the "how" for functional specifications. 
  • Ensure | business, functional, and technical requirements are captured, organized, approved by the client, and followed up. 
  • Establish | a baseline for project scope, and identify deviations and change requests. 
  • Design | Business needs to system solutions, ensuring compatibility and continuity within the account’s existing digital ecosystem. 
  • Communicate | Provide information to all the involved parties, including clients, tech leads, designers, and other members of the team throughout a project life cycle, to deliver accurate instructions and report progress to upper management. 
  • Interpret | client and other stakeholder requests, and effectively communicate these 
  • requests to other internal teams as necessary, using appropriate tools and methods 
  • to tailor communication to stakeholders as needed. Confirm resolution of the request. 
  • Negotiate | the priorities with the client so projects and requests can be traded off if the team is already at full capacity. 
  • Work | with cross-functional teams to identify a solution and create the applicable business and development documentation. 
  • Own | the environment of the client to contribute with improvements to the product delivered and perform the changes needed in the configuration of the systems to achieve the goals. 
  • Plan | the execution of a project: next steps, point of contact (SPOC), Tech Leader, who follows up, etc.  
  • Support | Developers and QA through Build and Test, Primary Focal for Triage and Troubleshooting issues. 
  • Perform | revisions to meet the requirements, confirming that the deliverables are useful, accurate, and precise. 

What you’ll need: 

  • Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). 
  • 4+ years of experience working in an interactive agency, online software development environment, or systems integration consulting.  
  • At least 2 years of experience documenting requirements and specifications for a variety of software applications, including websites, intranets, and/or mobile experiences. 
  • Experience in managing JIRA boards and managing tickets through completion. 
  • Experience with various Agile ceremonies: scrum, sprint planning, retrospectives demos. 
  • Experience defining requirements, user stories & risks. 
  • Great written and oral communication in English is a must. 
  • Ability to immerse oneself in an industry or market, and quickly add value to a project. 
  • Basic HTML knowledge and handlebars are a plus. 
  • Basic knowledge of ReactJS is a plus. 
  • Proactive and eager to learn.
