Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing (SMS) is one of America’s top-five non-bank mortgage-servicing companies. What is mortgage servicing? Our clients are businesses that own mortgage loans (such as banks and real estate investment firms). On their behalf, we manage (or “service”) their loan portfolios, which means that we collect homeowners’ mortgage payments, pay their tax and insurance bills, and help homeowners in default to get current.
 

Primary Function:

The SVP - Technology is responsible for establishing objectives and strategies for the IT department, devising and implementing suitable technology to streamline all internal operations, manage third-party technology relationships and help optimize their strategic benefits by designing and developing appropriate technology platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and execute software engineering and data strategy that directly aligns with business strategy.

  • Establish and manage team goals using quantifiable metrics.

  • Leverage matrix-managed teams that support end user computing, networking, and other information technology functions.

  • Manage third party/vendor relationships for all technology functions.

  • Create, as necessary, and update policies and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with internal polices, regulatory guidance, and other best practices.

  • Ensure an unwavering focus on information security best practices, client-first culture, and platform reliability.

  • Identify technology solutions that would assist the company gain a competitive advantage.

Qualifications, Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM

  • Master’s degree, preferred.

  • 10+ years of experience in IT operations and development in a regulated industry.

  • 7+ years of prior supervisory experience.

  • Strong experience in workflow management and process automation.

  • Strong experience with architecture and deployment.

  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal with strong presentation skills.

  • Strong experience working with outsourced/offshore development teams.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to collaborate with team members to achieve results.
