What you will do

Johnson Controls, Global Fire Detection Products, is searching for an Engineering Support Specialist to be located at the R&D facility in Brossard, Canada.  In this role, you will be responsible for assisting the Engineering R&D organization with various administrative and technical duties such as budget management, ordering engineering supplies, data analysis and processing, and special projects.

How you will do it

  • Assisting with the monthly budget review, including tracking organizational spending.
  • Manage purchase orders, manual checks, invoices, and other support functions.
  • Perform analysis and generate graphs, reports, etc., from various data sources.
  • Learn JCI systems and critical contacts associated with Procurement and Accounts Payable and manage relationships with those groups.
  • Help to organize and maintain information within R&D systems (e.g. staff assignments/utilization system).
  • Support the broader R&D organization with other technical needs, such as monthly database reports.
  • Assist in coordinating various team topics such as tracking annual patent awards and events.
  • Work in a team environment.

What we look for

Required

  • Bilingual in French and English, communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Associate Degree in technical or business field, or equivalent
  • 3+ years of related work experience.
  • Requires superior organizational skills, working independently on many tasks.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Must be proficient with intermediate spreadsheet manipulation including pivot tables, lookup formulas, sorting, filtering, etc.
  • Ability to reconcile transactions thoroughly and accurately.
