Job Details:

The Office of Alumni Engagement is seeking a committed and enthusiastic individual to grow its dynamic and vibrant forward-facing alumni and friends engagement team. The Coordinator of Alumni & Donor Engagement will independently manage programs, activities and communications to increase engagement among our alumni and donors to create a culture of connectiveness and philanthropy, providing multiple opportunities for life-long engagement with Mercer University.


 

Responsibilities:

This candidate will serve as a high-energy ambassador for the University, developing alumni networks and affinity groups. This candidate will work with internal and external partners to develop and execute a comprehensive plan of existing alumni programs and new initiatives and strategies to strengthen relations between the University and its alumni and friends. This candidate will take ownership in the planning, budgeting, and execution/hosting of special events for alumni and friends.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university is required along with one year of prior related experience in program coordination, alumni engagement, event planning and/or social media strategy. Excellent communication skills, including written, phone, and face to face interactions, are essential.

Candidates should be highly organized, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. A passion for higher education and a commitment to supporting the mission and values of Mercer is essential. Candidates who are Mercer University alumni are highly desirable.

Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable by the University carrier, as position requires travel. Candidates are expected to work nights and weekends as needed.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products to maintain accurate prospect management and track and analyze engagement metrics to assess the effectiveness of alumni programs.

  • Creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft engaging messages for different platforms.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across departments and with external stakeholders.

  • Ability to meet and exceed set goals
