Job Description

  • Plan, coordinate and supervise project preparation and advise customer and contractors for the installation of Varian software products. Ensure efficient and timely execution of installations and upgrades according to technical and safety regulations.
  • Meet with customers/customers contractors and perform site visits and help the customer prepare their facility for a successful and efficient installation.
  • Monitor customer facility preparation and coordinate equipment shipment schedules to ensure timely and effective installation of equipment.
  • Provide reports indicating installation activities including tight control of installation forecast. 
  • Review purchase order transmittals noting any unusual service requirements and follow up with appropriate function.
  • Build expert knowledge in our industry and convey knowledge to others through the generation of procedures, FAQs, and other technical documentation. 
  • As a subject matter expert, deliver product and/or procedural training to other project managers.
  • Advise customers on complex facility requirements, needs and/or changes including, but not limited to active directory and domain requirements, IT security, power and network requirements, workstation layout, and server requirements.
  • Active support of customer for implementation of pre-defined concepts.
  • Work remotely and travel onsite to Clinics/Hospital at times

Software Project Manager-Specific Requirements:

  • Advise customers on complex facility requirements, needs and/or changes including, but not limited to, power and network requirements, workstation lay-out, and server requirements.


Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Must have a general knowledge of network design, software controls systems, and server management. Knowledge of the use and deployment of software in a healthcare environment, especially as applied to cancer care.
  • PMI certification is desired in advance of hire
  • Sound knowledge of and professional experience with network design, software controls systems, and server management (may include virtualized environment, Citrix, and Cloud solutions).
  • Knowledge of the use and deployment of software in a healthcare environment, especially as applied to cancer care.
  • Proactive attitude with excellent organizational skills and team oriented
  • Must have strong customer service acumen.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken communication.
  • Availability to work within Central and Eastern US time zones.

Other Desired Skills and Knowledge: Required Certifications and Training: PMI certification is desired. Obtains and completes LMS training plan specific to assigned responsibility. Experience Level with Business Tools: Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Project, Visio, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with HCM (e.g., Workday) or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and 5 years of related experience or Masters Degree with 3 years of related experience.

Position must have full access to Varian client sites to perform the essential functions of this position. Many clients require Varian employees and representatives to meet certain Vendor Credentialing requirements before they will be allowed to have access to their sites. Unless prohibited by law, position must meet all Vendor Credentialing requirements necessary to have full client access and must continue to meet those requirements during the course of employment in this position. These requirements vary by client and may include, but are not limited to: Proof of valid identification (photo, driver's license, SSN) Criminal background checks Drug screens Immunizations (COVID-19, Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Influenza, Tetanus) Annual TB testing Healthcare training

The base pay range for this position is

Min $68,000 - Max $119,000

The pay wage range shown is based on the job posting's primary location. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications, and location.
