CommBank’s Market Operations (MO) business is looking for an Executive Manager, Business Improvement and Performance to join our Business Institutional & Market Operations (BIMO) function.
 

The BIMO team is accountable for overall operations, as well as enablement functions, within Business Banking Operations and Market Operations. The service provided by this team is critical to success of the organisation and our Institutional and Business Bank Business Units.
 

The Role.
As an Executive Manager for Business Performance and Improvement in MO, you will collaborate with Senior BIMO leaders on key business performance and transformation projects that MO will undergo. You will action and contribute to operational excellence by being involved in the overall MO strategy and will be able to deliver valuable insights and analytics to Senior Leadership so they can make informed decisions, which benefit our customers.
 

You will deliver thought leadership and will identify key opportunities for improvement to ensure MO is well equipped to embrace change. You will lead a high-performance team focussed on driving value to our business, providing process improvements and designing effective and efficient solutions.
 

Finally, you will help build and cement a continuous improvement culture and will champion and embed Operations Excellence regarding Working with Agile in collaboration with GM to design and deliver an effective MO Strategy.

On any given day you will:

  • Oversee the identification of specific customer needs and process inefficiencies and develop sustainable process improvement designs.
  • Consult on solution development and project plans, including scope, resources and timing.
  • Accountable for all initiative milestones, deliverables and success metrics.
  • Uplift cross functional team capability across MO and collaborate with business and BIMO partners to drive synergies and efficiencies within the wider MO and BIMO team.
  • Identify risks and act as an escalation point for potential risks. Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in existing processes, to support productivity and cost savings.
  • Leverage process efficiency reporting to design solutions and monitor progress.
     

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:
Extensive capability at an Executive Manager or Head Of level with a background in Operational Excellence or Business Improvement. You will be skilled at thinking strategically in order to champion, communicate and implement changes to the business which benefit our teams and our customers.
 

You will also have:

  • Experience driving change across large scale, complex, and highly regulated, business environments  
  • Strong Program Management and Project Management skills  
  • Extensive experience managing a broad range of stakeholders including strong influencing and negotiation skills  
  • Experience in strategy development and communication, with ability to influence and lead  
  • Intellectual curiosity with a keen awareness of market and technology trends.
  • A desire to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement in business processes and systems to deliver flawlessly for customers and reduce cost and risk
